Abstract
Većina današnjih brodova kao primarne pokretače propulzora, najčešće brodskog vijka, koristi dizelske motore. Razlog je njihova toplinska učinkovitost, konceptualna jednostavnost i veća pouzdanost. MeĎutim, negativni utjecaj na okoliš s posljedično sve strožom legislativom za njegovu zaštitu te rastuće cijene goriva i uvoĎenje poreza na emisije štetnih plinova čine upitnim korištenje postojećih tehnologija te stvaraju potrebu za traženjem novih, optimalnijih rješenja poriva broda. Cilj rada jest dati pregled mogućih alternativnih tehnologije poriva broda, opisati njihove glavne značajke te navesti prednosti i nedostatke njihovog korištenja u pogledu ekonomske učinkovitosti i ekološke prihvatljivosti.
Abstract (english)
Most of today's ships as a primary propulsion system, most commonly propeller, use diesel engines. Reason for that is its thermal efficiency, conceptual simplicity and higher reliability. However, certain negative environmental impacts resulting in greater environmental regulation for its protection, rising fuel prices and the introduction of tax on emissions of pollutants make the questionable use of existing technologies and create the need for seeking new, more optimal solutions for propulsion system. The aim of the paper is to determine the main alternative propulsion system technologies, describe their main properties, advantages and disadvantages in order to find the most economic and ecologic alternative.
