Abstract
Cospas-Sarsat sustav je u procesu nadogradnje satelita postavljajući SAR prijamnike na nove GPS američke satelite, navigacijske ruske satelite ( eng. Global Navigation Satellite System – GLONASS ), te europske Galileo navigacijske satelite. Jednom kada bude kvalificiran kao operativan, sustav će drastično povećati brzinu i preciznost lokacije radiofarova. Navedeni sateliti kruže po zemljinoj orbiti na visini između 19,000 i 24,000 km, što je visina koja se smatra srednjom visinom zemljine orbite. Ova komponenta Cospas-Sarsat sustava zove se MEOSAR, te će nadopunjavati postojeći LEOSAR i GEOSAR sustav.
Abstract (english)
Cospas-Sarsat is in the process of upgrading its satellite system by placing SAR receivers on new GPS satellites operated by United States, Russian navigation satellites GLONASS and European GALILEO navigation satellites. Once qualified as operational, this system will dramatically improve both the speed and location-accuracy for detecting beacons. Those satellites orbit the Earth at an altitude between 19,000 and 24,000 km, a range considered as medium-altitude Earth orbit. This component of Cospas-Sarsat is known as MEOSAR and it will complement the existing LEOSAR and GEOSAR systems.
