Tourism is one of the most important economic branches of Croatia, and tourism activities lead to numerous positive consequences such as: growth of household income, growth of public revenues, growth of export revenues and growth of entrepreneurial activity. All this has a positive impact on Croatia's economic growth, and thus tourism is the starting point for Croatian prosperity. Nautical tourism is a significant phenomenon that needs to be observed independently. When classifying the ports of nautical tourism as well as other economic activities, it starts with the macro-strategic interest of the country and its natural and market characteristics. When looking at the weaknesses of maritime tourism in the Republic of Croatia, one of the biggest problems is the non-compliance of legal regulations and administrative obstacles inaccuracy, incompatibility and inadequacy of legislation, and sometimes lack of clear provisions, makes it difficult for businesses in existing nautical tourism to slow down and hinder the possibility of further growth and development. When looking at the opportunities of maritime tourism in the Republic of Croatia, it is important to mention the unique EU market, as well as positive trends in tourism that enable the growth of demand in nautical tourism. Threats are numerous, and most often, conflicts arise with other resource users, a drop in the attractiveness of the bid due to coastal decline, environmental pollution, and the like.
