Abstract
Kako se upotreba kriptovaluta povećava, povećava se i novĉana vrijednost koja se drţi u tim valutama. Jedna od glavnih znaĉajki kriptovaluta je što ga ne izdaje neko središnje tijelo, što ga ĉini teoretski imunim na vladino uplitanje ili manipulacije. U ovom radu usredotoĉili smo se na moderne decentralizirane kriptovalute, posebno na Bitcoin, Ethereum, Ripple, te njihove vilice. U radu su razraĊeni razliĉiti aspekti koji se odnose na sigurnosne zahtjeve, poĉevši od ranog razvoja, izazova i rizika, prilika, prednosti i nedostataka, te njihove budućnosti. Uz to, u radu su obraĊena pitanja koja se odnose na praktiĉnu i tehniĉku funkciju kriptovaluta, te mogućnost primjene u pomorstvu. Zakljuĉeno je da nije lako predvidjeti budućnost kriptovaluta, jer treba puno uĉiniti posebno na podruĉju sigurnosnih propisa.
Abstract (english)
As cryptocurrency usage increases, so does the monetary value held in those currencies. One of the main features of cryptocurrency is that it is not issued by a central authority, which makes it theoretically immune to government interference or manipulation. In this paper, we focus on modern decentralized cryptocurrencies, especially Bitcoin, Ethereum, Ripple, and their forks. The paper deals with various aspects related to security requirements, starting with early development, challenges and risks, opportunities, advantages and disadvantages, and their future. In addition, the paper deals with issues related to the practical and technical function of cryptocurrencies and the possibility of their application in seafaring. It is concluded that it is not easy to predict the future of cryptocurrencies, as much needs to be done especially in the area of safety regulations.
