Abstract
Plovidba brodom u polarnim područjima predstavlja nove izazove za posadu broda. Globalno zatopljenje i pojava otapanja leda dovelo je do stvaranja novih plovidbenih puteva. Klasifikacijska društva postavljaju dodatne zahtjeve za brodove koji plove tim područjima. To se posebno odnosi na posjedovanje određene klase leda i svjedodžbi izdanih od strane klasifikacijskih društava. Nacionalni hidrografski instituti zaduženi su za izdavanje posebnih publikacija i atlasa leda tih područja kao i dodatna mjerenja dubine za brodove velikih gazova. Zapovjednici brodova u područjima prisutnosti leda moraju pratiti obavijesti službe za nadzor kretanja leda i ako je potrebno, pozvati ledolomca u slučaju zastoja u ledu.
Abstract (english)
Sailing with the vessels in polar regions presents new challenges to the crew. Global warming and ice melting caused the creation of new sailing routes. Classification societies set additional requirements for vessels which are sailing in those regions. This especially refers to the possession of certain ice class and certificates issued by the classificaton societies. National Hydrographic offices are responsible for issuing special publications and ice atlases of those regions as well as additional depth soundings for deep draft vessels. Masters in those areas must follow the notices of ice patrols and if necessary, call for the icebreaker assistance in case of getting trapped in ice.
