Abstract
EPIRB je prijenosni odašiljač koji šalje signale COSPAS-SARSAT satelitskom sustavu na frekvenciji od 406,025 MHz i namijenjen je obilježavanju pozicije u nuždi kod napuštanja broda. Nakon aktivacije EPIRB počinje odašiljati niz kodiranih, digitalnih signala prema satelitima u orbiti Zemlje. Pozicija sustava se naknadno izračuna u pripadajućem podsustavu. Bilo bi puno bolje da se točna pozicija šalje i predaje ne samo satelitskom sustavu nego i okolnim brodovima preko AIS sustava u okviru integrirane plutače. Svrha EPIRB-a je da nakon aktivacije (ručne ili automatske) pošalje signal koji će službama traganja i spašavanja ukazati na potrebu pokretanja službe za traganje i spašavanje, ali i da signal uzbunjivanja dođe do brodova koji su u neposrednoj blizini broda u pogibelji direktno putem AIS sustava.
Abstract (english)
EPIRB is a portable transmitter that sends signals to the COSPAS-SARSAT satellite system at a frequency of 406.025 MHz and is intended to mark the position of a distress emergency when leaving the ship. Once activated, EPIRB begins transmitting a series of encoded, digital signals to satellites in Earth's orbit. The position of the system is subsequently calculated in the associated subsystem. It would be much better to send and transmit the exact position not only to the satellite system but also to the surrounding ships via the AIS system within an integrated buoy. The purpose of the EPIRB is to send, after activation (manual or automatic), a signal that will indicate to the search and rescue services the need to start a search and rescue service, but also to provide an alert signal to ships in the immediate vicinity of the ship in danger directly via the AIS system.
