Abstract
Pomorski transport se smatra sigurnim, ekonomičnim i ekološki prihvatljivim oblikom komercijalnog transporta, pa se zbog toga oko 90% svjetske trgovine ostvaruje morskih putem. Tijekom prošlog desetljeća, brodska industrija je implementirala niz mjera koje imaju za cilj poboljšanje sigurnosti pomorskog prijevoza. Unatoč tome, brodske nesreće, a osobito sudari, su i dalje veliki problem. Najvidljivije i najpoznatije je zasigurno onečišćenje mora uzrokovano izlijevanjem nafte uslijed pomorske nesreće. Opasnost po morski okoliš i stvaranje nepovratnog onečišćenja mora uzrokuju i operativni postupci broda, kao što je ispuštanje otpadnih voda iz brodova, ispuštanje balastnih voda itd.
Abstract (english)
Maritime transport is considered safe, economical and environmentally friendly form of commercial transport and therefore about 90% of world trade is realized through the sea. Over the past decade, the shipping industry has implemented a series of measures aimed at improving the safety of maritime transport. Nevertheless, marine accidents, particularly collisions, are still a major problem. The most visible and the most famous is certainly the marine pollution caused by oil spills caused by maritime accidents. The danger to the marine environment and creation of irreversible pollution is also caused by the operating procedures of the ship, such as the discharge of waste water from the ship, the discharge of ballast water and so on.
