Abstract
Tehnološki razvoj brodova uvelike je promijenio način života pomoraca. Među najznačajnija dostignuća ubraja se primjena tehnike hlađenja na brodu, bez koje je suvremeni brod nezamisliv. Rashladni sustavi doprinose ugodnom boravku posade na brodu, omogućavaju očuvanje namirnica te prijevoz lako kvarljivog tereta. Nosivost brodova veća je od one u željezničkom i cestovnom prijevozu, a cijena je daleko niža, što uvjetuje današnji stupanj razvitka rashladnih uređaja na brodu.
Abstract (english)
Technological development of ships has greatly changed the sailors way of life. Among the most significant achievements is the use of cooling technology on board, without which the modern ship is unimaginable. Cooling systems contribute to the pleasant stay of a crew on a ship, enable food preservation and transport of easily damaging cargo. The carrying capacity of ships is higher than that of rail and road freight, and the price is far lower, which is conditioned by the current level of development of refrigeration equipment on board.
