The topics had been covered in this final work are Automatic Identification System – AIS, Voice Data Recorder – VDR and The Long Range Identification and Tracking – LRIT. These systems are integral part of the ship’s integrated navigational system. The AIS transponder allows the exchange of identification data, the position of the ship, course and speed between all types of ships in their vicinity and has significant role in improving safety when conducting navigation. VDR as a safety system records and safely stores data on the operation of all navigation devices, alarms and sensors involved in the navigation, position of the ship and the way of managing the ship in order to determine the cause of the maritime accident. The purpose of the LRIT device is to provide a global ship long range identification and tracking system. Exept that actively provides information on identity and current location in the time, it also benefits in terms of maritime safety or maritime search and rescue to protect the marine environment.
