Abstract
U radu je obrađen pojam štetnih tvari, njihova kategorizacija i karakteristike te opasnosti i rizici od štetnih tvari, uključujući njihov utjecaj na ljudsko zdravlje i morski ekosustav. Navedene su najučestalije štetne tvari u pomorskom prometu te konvencije i drugi pravni propisi koje se primjenjuju na opasne i štetne tvari u njihovom prijevozu morem. Primjenom statističke obrade dostupnih podataka napravljena je analiza pomorskih nesreća posljednih 50 godina koje su kao posljedicu imale gubitak ili izlijevanje štetnih tvari i to s obzirom na: datum nesreće, vrstu broda, zastavu broda, lokaciju gdje se nesreća dogodila u odnosu na blizinu kopna, državu u kojoj se dogodila nesreća, uzrok nesreća te vrstu i količinu zagađivača.
Abstract (english)
The paper deals with definition, categorization and characteristics of hazardous and noxious substances (HNS), as well as with the dangers and the risks of HNS including their impact on human health and marine ecosystem. The most common HNS in maritime traffic are listed, as well as the conventions and other legal instruments that deal with HNS. Statistical analysis of available data on global ship accidents that have resulted in loss or spill of HNS over the last 50 years is done, including the analysis of the accidents regarding to: date of the accident, ship type and ship flag, location of the accident in relation to land proximity, country of the accident, the cause of the accident as well as the type and quantity of pollutants.
