Abstract
Ime RO-RO brodovi dolaze od engleskog naziva „Roll on/Roll off“ i u doslovnom bi prijevodu značilo dokotrljati/otkotrljati. U tom se smislu može reći da se ova vrsta brodova odnosi na one brodove kojima je namjena prijevoz kotrljajućeg tereta. Zadatak ovog završnog rada jest analizirati ključne karakteristike RO-RO brodova s obzirom na njihovu vrstu. Naglasak je stavljen i na probleme sigurnosti RO-RO brodova uzimajući u obzir specifikacije njihove konstrukcije te rukovanja RO-RO brodovima. Iako su ovi brodovi fleksibilni i komercijalno isplativi, analiza relevantne literature pokazala je nužnost visokog stupnja izobrazbe pomoraca koji njima rukuju.
Abstract (english)
The name „RO-RO” ships come from the English name Roll on/Roll off. In this sense, it can be said that this type of ship refers to those ships for the purpose of transporting rolling cargo. The purpose of this final paper is to analyze the key characteristics of "RO-RO" ships with regard to their type. Emphasis is also placed on the safety issues of "RO-RO" ships, taking into account the specifications of their construction and the handling of "RO-RO" ships. Although these ships are flexible and commercially viable, an analysis of the relevant literature has shown the need for a high level of training for the seafarers handling them.
