Abstract
Posidonia oceanica (Linnaeus) Delille, posidonija, endemska je cvjetnica Sredozemnog mora i predstavlja jedan od najvažnijih morskih ekosustava. Livade posidonije predstavljaju područja najveće bioraznolikosti u Mediteranu pri čemu se velika ekološka važnost posidonije ogleda u činjenici da u njenim livadama žive brojne životinjske vrsta koje se tu hrane i razmnožavaju. Zbog činjenice da živi u plitkom obalnom području gdje je najizraženiji negativni utjecaj čovjeka, livade posidonije su devastirane. Posidonia oceanica spada u strogo zaštićene vrste prema Pravilniku o strogo zaštićenim vrstama. Uz onečišćenje, štetan utjecaj na posidoniju ima i nekontrolirani razvoj nautičkog turizma, pa je od iznimne važnosti pronaći načine zaštite i očuvanja ove endemske i strogo zaštićene morske cvjetnice. Zaštita biocenoza posidonije je od iznimne važnosti za očuvanje bioraznolikosti i općenito zdravlja mora.
Abstract (english)
Posidonia Oceanica (Linnaeus) Delille, Neptune grass, is an endemic seagrass of the Mediterranean Sea and is one of the most important marine ecosystems. Posidonia meadows are areas of the greatest biodiversity in the Mediterranean. Many species make the Posidonia meadows their home, their feeding ground and their breeding habitat which is of great ecological importance. Due to the fact that Posidonia lives in shallow coastal areas where the most negative human impact is noted, Posidonia beds are devastated. Posidonia Oceanica belongs to the strictly protected species under the Croatian Ordinance of the proclamation of protection of wild species and subspecies. Besides pollution, development of nautical tourism also has negative effect on the Posidonia. It is of genuine importance to find ways of protecting and preserving these endemic and strictly protected seagrass. Protection of Posidonia is extremely important for the preservation of biodiversity and general health needs.
