Abstract
Cilj ovog rada bio je analizirati i opisati sve vjetrove koji pušu na Jadranu. Područje istočnog Jadrana vrlo je vjetrovito te uvelike utječe na plovidbu. Neki vjetrovi se pojavljuju češće, neki rjeđe a nisu niti svi jednako opasni te predvidivi. Vjetar nastaje kao posljedica horizontalne razlike atmosferskoga tlaka. Brzina vjetra, a time i njegovo djelovanje na izložene predmete, ovisi o tome koliki je gradijent tlaka. U svrhu ranog reagiranja, vrlo je važno znati karakteristike svakog vjetra koji se pojavljuje na Jadranu. Analiza i prognoziranje vjetra detaljno je opisano u četvrtom poglavlju rada. Općenito na Jadranu su od najveće važnosti tri vjetra različitih karakteristika i smjerova, bura, jugo i maestral. Iako poprilično rjeđe pušu, ostali vjetrovi itekako mogu biti opasni i savjestan pomorac će voditi brigu o istima.
Abstract (english)
The aim of this paper was to analyse and describe the Adriatic winds. The area of the eastern Adriatic is very windy, which greatly influences navigation. Some winds occur more frequently, some less, and they are not equally dangerous and predictable. Wind is caused by the horizontal difference in the atmospheric pressure. The speed of the wind, and its effect on the exposed objects, depends on the pressure gradient. It is very important to know the characteristics of all Adriatic winds for the purpose of early response. Wind analysis and forecasting is described in detail in the fourth chapter of the paper. Generally speaking, three winds of different characteristics and directions, bura, jugo wind and maestral, are the most important. Other winds can be dangerous, too, although they blow much less frequently, and a conscientious sailor must take care of them.
