Abstract
Razvoj turizma, kako u Republici Hrvatskoj tako i u svijetu, doprinio je rastu i razvoju samih gradova. Dubrovnik je jedan od najljepših gradova na Mediteranu koji odiše jednostavnošću i posebnošću. Upravo zbog svoje duge povijesti, klime, očuvane kulturne baštine i jedinstvenih prirodnih ljepota već je dugi niz godina destinacija broj jedan svim turistima. Turizam se danas nametnuo kao glavna ekonomska i društvena djelatnost i upravo je zato važno da domaćini grada Dubrovnika dobro poznaju svoj grad, običaje, povijest i strane jezike kako bi s ponosom turistima prepričavali i širili svoju kulturu. Bitno je i da njihovi smještajni kapaciteti budu na nivou klijentele kako bi turizam na tom području što više zaživio. Cilj ovog rada je istaknuti kronološki razvoj Dubrovnika kao grada i stvoriti viziju kakav je bio turizam prije, kakav je sada, a kakav će biti u budućnosti grada Dubrovnika te koliko je zapravo turizam u Dubrovniku bitan.
Abstract (english)
The development of tourism, both in the Republic of Croatia and in the world, has contribued to the growth and the development of the cities themselfs. Dubrovnik is one of the most beautiful cities in the Mediterranean that exudes simplicity and speciality. Becouse of its long history, climate, preserved cultural heritage and unique natural beauty, it has been for many years the number one destination for tourists.Tourism is nowadays imposed as the main economic and social activity and it is therefore important that the hosts of the city of Dubrovnik know their city, customs, history and foreign languages in order to proudly present and expand their culture with pride. It is also important that their accommodation capacities are on the level of clientele so that tourism in the area can live more. The objective of this work is to highlight the chronological development of Dubrovnik as a city and to create a vision of how tourism was before, what it is now and what will be in the future of the city of Dubrovnik and how much tourism in Dubrovnik is important.
