Abstract
Turizam je u Republici Hrvatskoj jedna od najvažnijih gospodarskih grana te u razdoblju trajanja turističke sezone ovaj sektor zapošljava najveći dio radno sposobnog stanovništva. Privlačenjem izravnih inozemnih investicija turizam dugoročno doprinosi gospodarskom rastu, a kratkoročno potiče dodatno zapošljavanje u usko povezanim turističkim djelatnostima. Zahvaljujući raznovrsnosti političkih i gospodarskih situacija u kojima se Republika Hrvatska nalazila kroz povijest, hrvatski turizam doživljava uspone i padove te se sukladno tome njegov razvoj može podijeliti na više faza. U radu su, već navedene faze razvoja, kvalitativno i numerički opisane i analizirane, uključujući trendove koji utječu na trenutnu situaciju, ali i na budući razvoj hrvatskog turizma.
Abstract (english)
Tourism is one of the most important industries in the Republic of Croatia which seasonaly employs major part of the working-age population. In the long term, tourism contributes to economic growth by attracting foreign investments and in the short term encourages additional employment in activities closely related to tourism. Due to diversity of political and economic situations throughout the history, Croatian tourism has experienced its ups and downs and, therefore, its development can be divided into several stages. This work descriptively and numericaly presents and analyzes earlier mentioned stages of development, global trends that affect the current situation as well as the future development of Croatian tourism.
