Abstract
Održavanje kao funkcija poslovnog sustava danas zauzima značajno u svakom poslovnom sustavu, pa tako i u brodarstvu. Održavanje je kompleks aktivnosti organizacijskog, tehnološkog, tehničkog i administrativnog karaktera koje imaju za cilj poboljšanje i očuvanje radnih karakterstika ili održavanje sredstva u stanju u kojem ima sposobnost obavljanja svoje namjene. Morski okoliš obuhvaća skup živih bića i more koje im pruža stanište. Radi zaštite morskog okoliša od ljudskih aktivnosti, uključujući i brodarstvo, razvijen je efikasan sustav međunarodnih pravnih propisa. Uvođenjem međunarodnih propisa u pogledu održavanja broda došlo je do sigurnije i duže iskoristivosti brodova, ali i smanjenja rizika za morski okoliš. Održavanjem broda smanjene su potencijalne posljedice na okoliš koje bi mogle nastati zanemarivanjem postupaka održavanja.
Abstract (english)
The maintenance is very important in every business system as well as in maritime shipping. Maintenance can be defined as a complex of activities of organizational, technological, managerial and administrative character, with the aim of improving and preserving work characteristics of the system or ensuring the state in which the system is able to perform its purpose. The marine environment consists of living organisms and their habitats, naturally occurring in the sea, and their sea serves as a habitat. In order to protect the marine environment efficient international system of regulations is established. The ships are safer, they can be used for a longer time and the risks to the marine environment are reduced, by introducing international regulations regarding ship maintenance. The maintenance of the ship has reduced the potential consequences on marine environment that could result because of neglecting the maintenance procedures.
