Abstract
U svakodnevnom se jeziku riječ model upotrebljava u više značenja. Primjerice, modelom se smatra uzorak prema kojem se izrađuje određeni proizvod, plastično izrađen lik prirodnog ili geometrijskog tijela, zatim uzorak obuće ili odjeće koji se odlikuje novošću te pokusni primjerak stroja. Ova značenja riječi model, ma kako bila važna u određenim područjima ljudske djelatnosti, neće nas interesirati. Interesirati će nas smisao i uloga modela i modeliranja u okviru znanosti. U sljedećim stranicama ćemo razraditi vrste, tipove i podjele modeliranja u informacijskim sustavima.
Abstract (english)
In everyday's language the word model is used in more then one definition. For example, model is considered as an sample after which the product is made, plastic character of natural or geometric body, then sample of clothes which are distincted by novelty and experimental example of the machine. This meaning of the word model, however important in human activity will not be considerable. We will consider only aspects and use of model and modeling in the name of science. In the next pages we will consider species, types and distribution of modeling in information systems.
