Abstract
Hrvatsko putničko brodarstvo je u uskoj povezanosti s turizmom i to u svim svojim oblicima kao: linijsko putničko brodarstvo, brodovi za kružna putovanja, izletničko brodarstvo i nautički turizam (pomorsko-turistička plovidba). Turizam, putničko brodarstvo i luke glavni su čimbenici bitnog povećanja standarda otočkog stanovništva. Znatna ulaganja u otočki turizam, te njemu komplementarne ili «prijateljske» djelatnosti (poljoprivredu, trgovinu, kulturu, ribarstvo, stočarstvo, zanatstvo), uz ozbiljne investicije u putničko brodarstvo i putničke luke na obali i otocima, pretpostavka su razvitka i sprječavanja depopulacije otoka.
Abstract (english)
Croatian passenger shipping is in close connection with tourism in all its forms such as liner shipping, cruise ships, excursion shipping and nautical tourism (maritime and tourist navigation). Tourism, passenger shipping and ports are the main factors of a substantial increase in the standard of the island population. Substantial investment in island tourism and complementary or "friendly" activities (agriculture, trade, culture, fisheries, livestock breeding, artisanship), with serious investment in passenger shipping and passenger port on the coast and islands, are a prerequisite for the development and prevention of island depopulation.
