Abstract
Među značajnijim i ekološki prihvatljivijim izvorima energije javljaju se tekući plinovi koji se mogu podijeliti na ukapljene petrolejske plinove (Liquefied Petroleum Gas, LPG), kao što su etan, propan, butan i njihova mješavina etilen, te ukapljeni prirodni plin (Liquefied Natural Gas, LNG) koji je po svom sastavu najčešće metan. Uslijed povećane potražnje za ukapljenim plinovima dolazi i do potrebe za inovativnim načinima prijevoza, a upravo ovaj završni rad govori o tehnološkim karakteristikama LNG i LPG brodova. Pisanjem rada nastoji se dobiti uvid u glavne karakteristike ukapljenog prirodnog i naftnog plina, stavljajući potom naglasak na tehnološke karakteristike LNG i LPG brodova što dovodi do zaključaka o njihovim razlikama i važnosti.
Abstract (english)
Among the more significant and more environmentally friendly sources of energy there are liquid gases which can be divided into liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), such as ethane, propane, butane and their mixture of ethylene, and liquefied natural gas (LNG ) which is most commonly methane in its composition. Due to increased demand for liquefied gases, there is a need for innovative transport modes, and this paper analyses technological characteristics of LNG and LPG carriers. By writing the paper, it seeks to gain insight into the main features of liquefied natural and petroleum gas, with an emphasis on the technological characteristics of LNG and LPG carriers, leading to conclusions on their differences and importance.
