Abstract
Upletanjem čovjeka u prirodni ciklus kroz prekomjeran izlov ribe, došlo je do prorijeđenosti broja i vrsta ribe, a u nekim područjima i do potpunog kraha. Pojedina riblja naselja maksimalno su eksploatirana, zbog čega su komercijalne vrste na rubu istrjebljenja. Sve veća potražnja za ribom i povećana ribarska aktivnost su glavni čimbenici koji pridonose smanjenju ribljih populacija, ali se ne smiju zanemariti ni ekološki aspekti koji također imaju važnu ulogu. Neregularnim, nezakonitim, kao i neprijavljenim ribolovom iscrpljuju se riblji stokovi te uništavaju morska staništa što naposljetku narušava i tržišno natjecanje i utječe na cjelokupni koncept održivog ribolova. Upravo u cilju zadovoljenja sadašnjih potreba, ali i potreba budućih generacija, potrebno je poduzeti mjere za stvarno održivo i odgovorno iskorištavanje obnovljivih resursa.
Abstract (english)
Human intervention in the natural cycle through excessive fishing led to dilute of number and species of fish, and in some areas up to complete collapse. Some fish populations are maximally exploited and because of this commercial species are on the brink of extinction. Increasing demand for fish and increased fishing activity are the main factors that contribute to the reduction of fish populations, but should not be ignored neither ecological aspects that also play an important role. Irregular, illegal and unreported fishing deplete the fish stocks and destroying marine habitats which finally distort the competition and influence on the overall concept of sustainable fishing. Precisely in order to meet current needs, but also the needs of future generations, it is necessary to take measures for sustainable and responsible use of renewable resources.
