Abstract
Duboko morsko dno predstavlja najveće i najtajanstvenije područje na zemlji. Okolina na dubokom morskom dnu uglavnom je hladna, tamna voda prekrivena mekanim, dubokim muljem. Goleme površine dubokomorskog dna prekrivene su mekim sedimentima i godinama stvaranim različitim reljefnim oblicima. Ekološki čimbenici određuju život na nekom prostoru. Visoki hidrostatski tlak koji je prisutan na velikim dubinama morskog dna, otežava i ograničava hrani s površine mora da dođe do dna. U dubokom moru, zbog smanjenog dotoka hrane koja pada iz gornjih slojeva, raznolikost živog svijeta je siromašnija. Premda je život prisutan na svim dubinama, većina organizama može preživjeti samo unutar određene dubinske zone gdje vladaju određeni ekološki uvjeti.
Abstract (english)
Deep sea is the biggest and the most mysterious habitat on Earth. Deep sea environment is mostly cold, dark water covered in soft, deep sludge. Immense surface of deep sea bottom is covered in soft sediments and various landforms that have been created for years. Ecological characteristics determine life in specific habitat. High hydrostatic pressure is common in the deep sea and it makes the falling of the food to the bottom, harder. In the deep sea the diversity of living organisms is quite poor because of its dependence of food that is coming from above. Although the life is present at all depth, most organism can only survive at specific depth zone where are specific ecological conditions.
