Abstract
Proces umirovljenja predstavlja nezaobilazni životni događaj u trećoj životnoj dobi svakog čovjeka. To je jednostavno i proces prilagodbe u kojem se ljudi susreću sa promjenom životnog ritma, pojavom zdravstvenih problema, nerijetko gubitkom bračnog partnera i odlaskom djece te vrlo čestim osjećajem usamljenosti. Cilj ovog rada je vidjeti, putem pilot istraživanja, razlikuju li se pomorci kao umirovljenici od ostalih umirovljenika i razlikuju li se pomorci međusobno s obzirom na duljinu radnog staža na brodu, imaju li veće poteškoće u prilagodbi odnosno postoji li razlika u društvenom sudjelovanju, osjećaju autonomije, obavljanju svakodnevnih aktivnosti, intimnosti i osjetilnim sposobnostima te bojaznosti od umiranja i smrti. Premda pomorci imaju specifične radne uvjete, društveno su izolirani tijekom plovidbe, izloženi su mnogo većem broju stresora od ostalih zaposlenika na kopnu, pomorci umirovljenici se statistički značajno ne razlikuju od ostalih umirovljenika ni po jednom mjerenom parametru.
Abstract (english)
The retirement process is an unavoidable life event in the third age of every human. It is simply a process of adjustment in which people encounter a change in life rhythm, the appearance of health problems, often the loss of a spouse and the departure of children, and an increasing feeling of loneliness. The aim of this paper is to see, through a pilot study, whether seafarers as retirees differ from other retirees and whether seafarers differ from each other in terms of length of service on board, whether they have greater difficulty adjusting or whether there is a difference in social participation, feel of autonomy, daily activities, intimacy and sensory abilities, dying and fear of death. Although seafarers have specific working conditions, are socially isolated during navigation and are exposed to a much higher number of stressors than other employees on land, it is noted that retired seafarers do not significantly statistically differ from other retirees in any of the measured parameters.
