Abstract
Morske struje promatramo kao mase morske vode koje se gibaju od jednog na drugo mjesto. Cilj ovog završnog rada je upoznavanje s glavnim značajkama morskih struja, silama uzročnicama vezanih za njihov nastanak, te prevladavajućih struja koje egzistiraju u Sjevernom Atlantiku. Analizirane su glavne morske struje koje se javljaju u Sjevernom Atlantiku i utječu na razmjenu topline između ekvatorijalnog i polarnog područja. Detaljnim proučavanjem morskih struja Sjevernog Atlantika, dolazi se do saznanja koja utječu na sigurnost plovidbe i boravka na moru, te na taj način uvelike pomažu pri određivanju smjera i brzine kretanja plovnih objekata. Sjeverni Atlantik je jedan od najprometnijih plovidbenih putova na svijetu, a glavne morske struje Sjevernog Atlantika dio su velikog atlantskog vrtloga koji utječe na klimu oceana i kontinenata, a osobito područja uz obale oceana.
Abstract (english)
Sea currents are observed as sea water masses that move from one place to another. The aim of thiswork is to provide anintroduction to the main characteristics of currents, the forces related to their originand the prevailing currents that exist in the North Atlantic. The given analysis pertains to the major currents found in the North Atlantic, which affect the heat exchange between the equatorial and polar regions. Through a detailed study of the sea currents of the North Atlantic, knowledge is obtained that affect the safety of navigation and being at sea, and in this way greatly help in determining the direction and speed of movement of vessels.The North Atlantic is one of the busiest traffic routes in the world, and the main sea currents of the North Atlantic are part of a large Atlantic gyre that affects the climate of the oceans and continents, and especially the areas along the ocean coasts.
