Abstract
U ovom radu upozoriti će se na opasnosti koje prijete brodovima za prijevoz tekućih tereta i ukapljenih plinova pri rukovanju teretom. Definirati će se pojmovi poput donje i gornje granice eksplozivnosti, te će se ukazati na izvore paljenja prisutne na brodovima. Obvezujući brodove na korištenje sustava inertnog plina podigla se razina sigurnosti pri rukovanju teretom. Svi tereti direktno ovise o kvaliteti inertnog plina tj. njegovom sastavu, stoga treba biti dobro upoznat s karakteristikama tereta koji se ukrcaje. Pogledati ćemo utjecaj inertnog plina na eksplozivnost i različite načine njegove proizvodnje. Inertiranjem tankova postiže se inertna atmosfera u tankovima s niskim postotkom kisika u kojima eksplozija nije ostvariva. Objasniti će se rad pojedinih elemenata sustava inertnog plina i uloge sigurnosnih naprava. Pojasniti će se na koje to načine inert / nitrogen plin povećava sigurnost na LNG / LPG brodovima i pojačava zaštitu morskog okoliša.
Abstract (english)
This paper will draw attention to the dangers posed by ships for the transport of liquid cargo and liquefied gases when handling cargo. Terms such as the lower and upper explosive limits will be defined, and the sources of ignition present on ships will be indicated. By obliging ships to use an inert gas system, the level of safety in cargo handling has been raised. All cargoes directly depend on the quality of the inert gas, i.e. its composition, so one should be well acquainted with the characteristics of the cargo being loaded. We will look at the influence of inert gas on explosiveness and different ways of its production. By inerting tanks, an inert atmosphere is achieved in tanks with a low percentage of oxygen in which the explosion is not feasible. The operation of individual elements of the inert gas system and the role of safety devices will be explained. It will be clarified how inert / nitrogen gas increases safety on LNG / LPG ships and enhances the protection of the marine environment.
