Abstract
Održivi razvoj je skladan odnos okoliša i ljudske djelatnosti s ciljem očuvanja prirodnog bogatstva naše planete za buduće generacije. Primjena načela održivog razvoja postaje sve važnija u menadžmentu organizacija bez obzira na njihov tip, veličinu i sektor kojem pripadaju, i okruženje u kojem rade. Cilj ovog rada je istaknuti važnost primjene principa održivog razvoja, posebice u europskim lučkim industrijama. Rad se također bavi organizacijama koje potiču primjenu principa održivog razvoja, pravnim instrumentima koji utječu na održivi razvoj luka te programima i projektima kojima se prati utjecaj luka na morski okoliš.
Abstract (english)
Sustainable development is a harmonious relationship between the environment and human activity with the aim of preserving the natural resources of our planet for future generations. Today, the implementation of sustainable development principles are getting more important than ever for the management of organisations regardless of the type, the size, the sector or the environment in which the organisation operates. The aim of this paper is to emphasize the importance of sustainable development principles implementation, particularly in European port industries. In addition, this paper deals with the organisations that foster the implementation of sustainable development principles, legal instruments that affect sustainable development of the ports as well as programs and projects that monitor the impact of the portson marine environment.
