Abstract
Onečišćenje morskog okoliša danas predstavlja veliki problem u svijetu. Jedna od opasnosti za morski okoliš je ispuštanje balastnih voda. Taj problem je prepoznat krajem dvadesetog stoljeća, pa je 2004. godine u okviru Međunarodne pomorske organizacije usvojena Međunarodna konvencija o nadzoru i upravljanju brodskim balastnim vodama i sedimentima koja je stupila na snagu 2017. godine. U Republici Hrvatskoj ispuštanje balastnih voda regulirano je Pravilnikom o upravljanju i nadzoru vodenog balasta, koji se primjenjuje na sve trgovačke brodove koji plove unutarnjim morskim vodama i teritorijalnim morem Republike Hrvatske.
Abstract (english)
Today, maritime pollution represents one of the biggest world problems. One of the dangers for the maritime environment is the release of ballast waters. Recognition of that problem became obvious at the end of twentieth century. Consequently, in 2004., International maritime organisation passed The International Convention for the Control and Management of Ships Ballast Water and Sediments bill which came into effect in 2017. In the Republic of Croatia ballast water discharge is regulated by the Ordinance on the management and control of ballast water, which applies to all merchant ships navigating in the internal sea waters and territorial sea of the Republic of Croatia.
